Bazaarvoice is a SaaS company that enables brands and retailers to collect and display user-generated content on their e-commerce websites.
My role as a Product Designer is a balance of leading and owning the end-to-end design process, discovery and innovation groundwork, conducting user research and understanding key metrics and insights. I manage the design across two teams, Product Catalog and Network.
The Product Catalog application includes data about the products that clients offer, product categories and brands. Clients use the platform tool Portal to view and manage their Product Catalog.
The Network application includes data about who clients are connected to on the Bazaarvoice network, including what products in your Product Catalog are matched to external brands and retailers and what products/brands are being syndicated to brands/retailers on your network.
I was asked by the Product Knowledge team if I could help them with a re-design of their Knowledge Base as they transitioned to a new CMS.
The most recurring issue with the old Knowledge Base design was users not being able to find what they were looking for as the landing page was too cluttered.
The re-design ensured that users would be met with clear and concise content, that allowed them to get whatever answers they were looking for.
A typical way of working for me involves creating low fidelity sketches and wireframes, which I then develop into high fidelity designs and prototypes in Figma, with the end result being a user-orientated, intuitive and accessible design in Portal.
Bazaarvoice use their own design system, Aperture, a re-usable, one source of truth as it ensures consistency across the Portal. The design team are free to contribute to the design system as they discover use cases within their respected product areas.
